Ms. Michelle Yoo is the head coach of the Varsity Volleyball Team at Immaculate Heart Academy. She played volleyball at East Stroudsburg University, where she received a B.S. in public health in 2010. She has more than 15 years of coaching experience at the high school and club level, working with players ranging from fourth grade through college. In fact, many of her players have gone on to compete at the collegiate level.

Coach Yoo started coaching at IHA in 2019, and under her leadership, the team has won multiple League, Sectional, and State championships. In addition, she has also earned AVCA High School Regional Coach of the Year, as well as Big North and United League Coach of the Year.

Ms. Yoo is committed to developing athletes both on and off the court. “My mission is to inspire athletes to reach their full potential through hard work, discipline, and a love for the game. I’m committed to building a strong team culture and emphasizing fundamentals to help my players achieve success.” Coach Yoo said she does this by focusing on “skill development, teamwork, growth mindset, and mental toughness in a competitive yet supportive environment.”  In addition to coaching the Volleyball Team, Ms. Yoo runs her own volleyball academy, training athletes of all ages with her assistant coach, Ms. Avery Dravis-Stark.
