Spring Track & Field

The 2025 Spring Track and Field Season was a historic one for the Blue Eagles as numerous championships were won and eight school records were set. Once again, for the fifth consecutive year, IHA took home the League, County Relay, and County Group Championships. The 4×100 Relay of Piper Portacio ʼ25, Paige Burgess ʼ25, Veronica Costello ʼ25, and Zoey Orlando ʼ28 ran 47.87, breaking the school record and recording the fourth fastest time in Bergen County history. Paige Burgess ʼ25, Elizabeth Burgess ʼ25, and Veronica Costello ʼ25 set a new school record in the 3×400 meter hurdles. Piper, Veronica, and Paige teamed up with Elizabeth to also shatter the school record in the 4×400, posting the fifth fastest time in Bergen County history with a 3:53.05 to place seventh at the State Meet Of Champions. Layla Graddy ʼ28 combined with Zoey, Veronica, and Piper to establish a new school mark and post the fourth fastest 4×200 in Bergen County history. Piper set the school record at 400 meters, and Zoey set new school records in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Additionally, Piper and Zoey placed seventh and eighth in the 100 meters at the NJ State Meet of Champions. Senior Julia Soblo established a new school mark in the discus and placed fifth at the New Jersey State Meet of Champions. At the New Balance Nationals in June, Zoey Orlando won the National Title in the Freshman 100 meters, posting the second fastest time in Bergen County history in 11.88.
