IHA Receives RAIL Endorsement

Immaculate Heart Academy is proud to announce that it has received the Responsible AI in Learning Endorsement (RAIL) from the Middle States Association. To achieve this endorsement, IHA demonstrated leadership in navigating the opportunities and challenges of AI in education and proved it is prepared to lead responsibly — protecting students, supporting staff, and shaping a learning environment ready for the future.

The RAIL digital credential signifies that IHA completed a rigorous implementation process grounded in AI literacy, ethics, and institutional readiness as it relates to the school’s practices, programs, infrastructure, governance, and culture and identity. According to Middle States, “Your work is more than a milestone. It is a signal to your community that your school is proactively shaping the future of learning. Through the RAIL framework, IHA has gained institutional expertise in AI literacy, critical evaluation, and responsible implementation; developed mission-aligned policies to ensure safe, ethical, and effective use of AI tools; participated in ongoing professional development and collaborative peer learning; engaged in strategic planning to balance innovation with risk mitigation; and aligned its practices with a recognized implementation framework for long-term success.”

IHA is proud to have earned this credential from Middle States, as Mrs. Baskin, assistant principal of academics, states, “This endorsement reflects our readiness and responsibility in the age of AI as we enhance our programs to ensure safety, ethical leadership, and innovation.” Thank you to all members of the IHA committee who helped make this endorsement possible, including Mrs. Baskin; Mrs. Sheehan P’20, ’24, English Department chairperson; Mrs. Perry, mathematics teacher;  Ms. McGuirk, science teacher; Ms. Patrizia Tersigni P’14, art teacher; and Mr. Villalongo, director of technology.
