National Merit® Commended Students
Ten Immaculate Heart Academy seniors were recently named Commended Students in the 2026 National Merit® Scholarship Program, which honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Congratulations to Danica Libanan, Riley Cannon, Alana Flores, Gabrielle Rivera, Alexandra Sosa, Madelyn Hryniw, Isabella Duca, Catalina Maglicic, Mary Quinn, and Madison Les.
More than 1.3 million juniors in about 20,000 high schools entered the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®), which served as an initial screen of program entrants. Approximately 34,000 of the 50,000 top scorers in each annual National Merit® Scholarship program are named Commended Students based on a national Selection Index qualifying score. This year, the score was 210. Congratulations to our ten outstanding seniors who received Letters of Commendation!
As previously announced, Isabella Ragone of Wyckoff, was named a National Merit® Semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit® Scholarship Program. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
Immaculate Heart Academy is proud to honor these impressive students!
