IHA Adds Varsity Flag Football Team
Immaculate Heart Academy is thrilled to announce the addition of a Flag Football Team to its impressive athletic program during the 2025-26 school year!
Jack Walsh will join as the head coach of the IHA Varsity Flag Football Team this spring. Coach Walsh is currently also a varsity football coach at Saint Joseph Regional High School (SJR), where he graduated from in 2015. After playing four years of football and lacrosse at SJR, Jack went on to play Division I football at the University of Maine.
Mr. Steve Ferro, director of athletics, spoke about the addition of a Flag Football Team to IHA, “We are incredibly excited to be at the forefront of including this rapidly growing sport in our impressive athletic program. Our young women excel on the field, while balancing our rigorous academic curriculum, and I have no doubt they will take this same grit and determination to the football field.”
Immaculate Heart Academy has 17 athletic programs, which include 36 teams at the freshman, junior varsity, and varsity levels. IHA truly excels athletically, winning numerous league, county, state sectional, and state championships in a variety of sports. Each year, teams continue to dominate play and are recognized at the local, state, and national levels. IHA has won 146 state championships since 1990 and 115 county championships over the same time period. The athletic department is also proud to recognize many “Coaches of the Year,” “Players of the Year,” and “Teams of the Year.”
