Immaculate Heart Academy runs Summer@theheart, a coeducational summer enrichment program for students entering 6th-12th grade (see below course descriptions for specific grade requirements).

TV Studio 101 – $140
Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23, 2026 (four days): 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
TV Studio 101 gives students hands-on experience in the TV Studio. Students will learn how to use the different industry-standard equipment to create a broadcast news show and produce a live studio demonstration. Students will learn how to write for broadcast news and anchor their own news shows. Students will also learn the different roles in the TV Studio rooms, including the control room and the audio room. Students will be responsible for each crew position in the TV Studio, along with being on-air talent. Open to students entering 6th grade and up.
Writing Boot Camp – $140
Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9, 2026 (four days): 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Does the thought of writing essays for your English class leave you with a splitting headache or a sense of anxiety? If so, this is the class for you! Over four days, this course breaks down the basics of writing a high school essay and helps you hone your writing skills. This course includes tips and tricks for pre-writing and for the actual writing of an academic essay. Students will have the opportunity to draft, write, and edit responses to varying essay topics. Open to students entering 8th through 10th grades.
ACT: Science – $140
Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9, 2026 (four days): 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This course helps students build the skills needed to succeed on the ACT Science section. Over the four days, students will learn how to interpret graphs, analyze data, and evaluate scientific experiments. With timed practice, the class focuses on improving pacing, accuracy, and confidence to maximize scores. Open to students entering 10th through 12th grades.
ACT: Math – $140
Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9, 2026 (four days): 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Boost your ACT Math score with targeted practice and proven strategies. Over the four days, students will review key concepts, strengthen problem-solving skills, and learn time-saving techniques to tackle even the toughest questions with confidence. This course is perfect for students looking to improve accuracy, speed, and overall performance on test day. Open to students entering 10th through 12th grades.
Algebraic Factoring – $140
Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 9, 2026 (four days): 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Ready to crack the code on factoring? In this four-day Algebraic Factoring Boot Camp, students will level up their factoring skills with helpful tricks and plenty of practice. From basic techniques to exposure to more challenging expressions, this course serves as a great way to prep for Algebra II or Geometry Honors. Open to students entering 9th through 11th grades.
Monday, July 20 – Thursday, July 23, 2026; and Monday, July 27 – Thursday, July 30, 2026 (eight days): 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This is the perfect course for those students who want to get a head start on the school year! This eight-day class is taught using a high school algebra book, and is ideal for both the student who loves math and the student who would be happy to never take math again. Students who have taken this course have found that they performed better than they expected in their school’s algebra course. Open to students entering 7th through 9th grades.
Intro to Geometry – $260
Monday, July 20 – Thursday, July 23, 2026; and Monday, July 27 – Thursday, July 30, 2026 (eight days): 9 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
This summer course is for those students who want to get a jump start on their geometry or who are interested in the subject. The eight-day class is taught with a high school geometry book, and will benefit the student who loves math and the student who finds math to be a challenge. Students who take this course have an advantage come September. Open to students entering 8th through 10th grades.
HSPT Review Course
A review and prep class for the HSPT will also be held at IHA during the summer. Classes will be held weekdays on August 24 – September 2, 2026, from 9:00-11:30 a.m. For more information, contact Mrs. Sandt at grade8prep@gmail.com. The HSPT exam will be held in November 2026.
