St. Brigid Summer Scholars

IHA recognized 28 impressive students with St. Brigid Summer Scholar Awards on October 3, 2025. The St. Brigid program is designed for rising seniors to receive recognition for their scholarly and service-oriented pursuits beyond the traditional classroom setting. To qualify for an award, each scholar is required to dedicate a minimum of 30 hours to a chosen pursuit over the summer and maintain a daily journal reflecting on their experiences. At the conclusion of their summer endeavor, students created video presentations documenting their activities.

During summer 2025, St. Brigid scholars engaged in a wide range of learning opportunities — from volunteering in hospitals and providing patient care to attending college-level programs in engineering, neuroscience, pharmacology, biomedicine, and business. Many students also embraced hands-on service by joining retreats to build homes, clean pantries, connect with senior citizens, and support children with special needs.

Each of these experiences enabled students to apply their learning in real-world settings, foster personal growth, and deepen their understanding of their role in society. Thank you to Mrs. Amy Baskin, assistant principal of academics, and Mrs. Tara Maka ’02, director of guidance, for overseeing the St. Brigid Summer Scholar Program and coordinating our award presentation for parents and students. We are honored to recognize the following seniors who dedicated their summer to expanding their learning and service-oriented activities outside the walls of IHA:
