The Memory Project is a charitable nonprofit organization that invites art teachers, art students, and solo artists to help cultivate global kindness by creating portraits for children around the world who have faced substantial challenges such as violence, war, extreme poverty, neglect, and loss of parents. IHA's Advanced Painting and Drawing students created portraits for girls in Afghanistan. Malala Yousafzai, the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner in history, is working tirelessly to improve the lives of girls. Our students created portraits for girls in programs supported by Malala's network.
As part of our celebration of Women’s History Month in March 2024, IHA recognized a group of students in a lobby display entitled "Women of Valor Among Us: IHA Women Making History Today." We are proud to celebrate these 13 impressive students for sharing their unique gifts and talents at The Heart: Brooke Bjerke '24 (Grit); Sophia Reina Ditchfield-Agboh '24 (Leadership); Isabelle Bertussi '25 (Moral Character); Meaghan Keating '24 (Academic & Athletic Leadership); Samantha Tauber '25 (Community Building); Kaitlyn Klaus '24 (Servant Leadership); Kathleen Brancato '26 (Spirituality); Brooke Rodriguez '25 (Kindness & Inclusivity); Alexandra Barry '24 (School Spirit); Kathleen Reck '25 (Servant Leadership); Marisa Arone '24 (Learning & Leading); Lily Schwedhelm '24 (Service to the IHA community); and Arianna George '27 (Friendship).
