IHA has a variety of extensive facilities, from the 700-seat Patricia Sollitto Performing Arts Center used for drama, choral, and music programs and school liturgies, to the fully-equipped Information Commons (IC). The IC provides the resources of a traditional library with advanced information management and retrieval capabilities. Two large desktops with state-of-the-art scanners are also available for students' use. The IC provides small meeting rooms, a conference room, a school archive section, the Writing Center, and comfortable workspaces for students using laptops. The small meeting rooms are used for students to study, hold meetings and tutoring sessions, and much more.
IHA has a large gymnasium (with motorized bleachers) for physical education classes and sports activities, a full-service cafeteria, a large music/performance room, numerous newly renovated science labs, and a spacious student lounge/multipurpose room. Our school is also proud to highlight our beautiful Sisters' Chapel and high-tech television/broadcasting studio. The TV studio, which includes an editing suite with advanced editing hardware and software, is responsible for broadcasting our WIHA morning announcements on televisions in all of the classrooms.
Immaculate Heart Academy also offers students a stunning new art studio and the innovative Vincent Herold Fitness Center with top-of-the-line sports performance and workout equipment. In collaboration with the Archdiocese of Newark, IHA has also entered into a new and exciting solar energy program. Solar panels have been added to the roof, estimated to generate about 40 percent of electricity used, saving the school energy costs and allowing IHA to keep its commitment to the “go green” movement!
Our outdoor campus boasts a regularly utilized full-sized Field Turf™ field and four brand new tennis courts, renovated in the summer of 2022. Through our Soaring to New Heights campaign, we completed the enhancement of our entire athletic field complex for the 2019-20 school year. The surrounding walkway and spectators' patio, completed in the spring of 2020, offer an elevated view of the field and are ADA compliant so that all fans can access IHA's athletic complex easily and safely.
