Intro to Python - $220
This two-week summer class will introduce students to the fundamentals of the programming language Python. Students will learn to use loops, conditionals, and functions in real-world applications. Students will also learn how to “debug” code and create games and quizzes. This course is aimed at students with little to no experience with Python and students should have access to a laptop. Open to students entering 8th through 10th grades.
Intro to Algebra - $220
This is the perfect course for those students who want to get a head start on the school year! This class is taught using a high school algebra book, and is ideal for both the student who loves math and the student who would be happy to never take math again. Students who have taken this course have found that they performed better than they expected in their school’s algebra course. Open to students entering 7th through 9th grades.
This two-week course is designed to explore and introduce the basic concepts of Biology. Students will finish with an understanding of early topics covered in a typical Biology course. This course is designed to excite students and build a foundation for their future scientific endeavors. Open to students entering 7th through 9th grades.

Oil Painting Workshop - $140 (includes materials)

Spark your inner artist and get inspired with beginner oil painting classes. Feel welcomed in our warm, nurturing, and exciting art studio! Our classical, fear-free method of oil painting is geared toward total beginners. Students receive personalized art instruction that focuses on individual needs. Students learn the fundamentals of oil painting: light, color, form, space, and composition, the very building blocks of individual expression. Explore a wide variety of painting tips and tools, including color mixing, personal subject matter, composition, building texture through paint, palette knife use, details with paintbrushes, and more. Open to students entering 7th through 12th grades.
Creative Writing - $115

This Creative Writing course allows students to develop skills for different pieces of creative nonfiction and poetry. Students read different examples for inspiration, and work on the genre of their choice. Students receive instruction on the use of figurative language, sensory details, and structural support while working both independently and in small group workshops. Students are given the opportunity to express themselves through memoirs, personal essays, travel or food writing, or different forms of poetry. This writing studio allows students to receive one-on-one feedback from both the instructor and peers, and gives a student autonomy in developing his or her creative voice. Open to students entering 7th through 10th grades.
Broadcasting - $110
July 24-27, 2023
Students gain hands-on experience learning all aspects of television news and feature production in this six-day course. This includes working with the equipment in the TV studio and the Editing Suite, and with field production kits. Students learn to operate and effectively use video and audio field equipment and edit videos using Final Cut Pro. Students learn the techniques of storyboarding and the emphasis is on the individual development of clear ideas. Open to students entering 6th through 9th grades.
Essay Writing Bootcamp - $115

Does the thought of writing essays for your English class leave you with a splitting headache or a sense of anxiety? If so, this is the class for you! Over a four-day mini session, this course breaks down the basics of essay writing and helps you hone your writing skills. This course includes tips and tricks for pre-writing and for the actual writing of an academic paper. During the course, students read short stories and examine possible essay topics and responses. Students have the opportunity to draft, write, and edit responses to varying essay topics. Open to students entering 7th through 10th grades.
