Applied Engineering Club Places in Global Destination Imagination Competition

The Musical Mashup Team won second place in its event. Rebecca Coronel'16, Elizabeth Becz'18, Kaitlyn Bertolino'18, Kaitlyn Brown'19, Olivia Najjar'19, and Alexa Trubiano'19 designed and constructed an instrument that was a combination flute and harp. The team was required to incorporate the instrument into a skit and then test the instrument's construction by placing weights on a testing structure. The Musical Mashup Team has been invited to the Global Destination Imagination competition to be held in Knoxville, Tennessee at the end of May.

The Meme Event Team won third place in its event. Marissa Amen'18, Riley DeRosa'18, Hannah Gunning'18, Kristen Kjetsaa'18, Emily Koehne'18, and Eilis MacLaughlin'18 designed a rock wall with 3D printed hand holds. Their "meme" was women helping women achieve success in STEM careers. The team was required to incorporate their rock wall prop in a presentation to the judges that included information about a social outreach event that the girls held at Oasis In Paterson for their after school program.

Trophies and certificates were awarded to the teams. Congratulations, ladies!
