IHA Student-Dancers Participate in iDance4aCURE

The dancers raised $22,833 through iDance4aCURE, dancing freestyle and competition routines to a mix of jazz, contemporary, and pop music. One hundred percent of all proceeds raised at iDance4aCURE events go to national childhood cancer research programs, and a portion of the proceeds were donated to Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital at Hackensack UMC.

Carley, who has been dancing at Anita Ehrler's Dance Extensions for 12 years and is a member of IHA’s varsity dance team, said she was beyond proud to participate in the dance-a-thon. “I got to do something that I love for an incredible cause,” Carley said. “I’m happy to know that I was a part of something that is helping to end cancer.”

Both Madeline and Sarah have been dancing at the Anita Ehrler’s since they were three years old and joined the competition team at the age of eight. Madeline said participating in this event made her realize she should “never take anything for granted.”

“Unfortunately, too many people have a first-hand experience with cancer,” Madeline shared. “By participating in fundraisers like the dance-a-thon for pediatric cancer, young people are empowered to help make a difference and are reminded of how fortunate they truly are.”

Sarah, who is also a member of IHA’s varsity dance team, said the dance-a-thon was a great experience. Not only was she helping others, but she was able to do something she loves to support a wonderful cause. “It was so amazing,” Sarah exclaimed, “to see our studio all come together, do what we love, and do it for a great cause!”
