Rookie Camp 2016

IHA Rookie Camp is an optional orientation program for incoming freshmen. The program focuses on community-building activities and brief sessions regarding tips for success at IHA, including topics such as organizational skills, time management, summer reading, and involvement in the extra-curricular life of the school. Senior students of our Peer Mentoring Program will be on hand to give tours, lead group discussions, organize activities, and share their thoughts with the students about the transition to high school life.

Last summer, more than half of the present ninth graders participated in the program, and they deemed the experience a huge success. Many met new friends, were more comfortable and enthusiastic about entering IHA, and came prepared in September with the skills necessary to begin the year successfully. We will have our required general orientation for all 9th graders in September before classes begin. This summer program simply offers students the opportunity for a more in-depth orientation before the start of the school year.

Rookie Camp 2016 will be held on June 21, 22, and 23 from 4-7 p.m. The full cost of the program is $125. If you are only able to attend one or two nights, please join us for $50 a day. IHA Class of 2020, please click here to register for Rookie Camp 2016!
