Earlier this year, National Art Honor Society (NAHS) members brainstormed creative ways to share their love of art with the IHA community. NAHS artists sent out an email inviting faculty and staff members to share a place in the world where they find peace. Forty-four faculty and staff members responded and NAHS students began creating paintings based on their responses. Both remote and in-person NAHS members were able to participate in this service project as a way to show their appreciation to teachers, administrators, and staff. The project culminated with an art show entitled Peaceful Places in the main lobby from May 11-28, 2021. IHA community members were able to add to the exhibit by sharing where they find peace in the world on a display panel entitled Peace Be with You. The collaborating teachers and staff received the paintings as a gift at the conclusion of the show. Photos courtesy of Patrizia Tersigni and Lisa Encke.
