Ms. Elizabeth Mathis'16

Ms. Elizabeth Mathis, math teacher at IHA, is also a 2016 alumna! Ms. Mathis is a 2020 graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, where she studied biology and economics and was a member of the varsity soccer team, a certified EMT, a developmental biology TA, and a tour guide for the Admissions Office. This summer, she will begin a five-year DVM/MBA combined program to become a veterinarian. She also works full time as a veterinary assistant at Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus.
While a student at IHA, Elizabeth was a member of the National Honor Society, C.A.R.E., the soccer team, the St. Brigid Society, and she was a eucharistic minister and tour guide. "I am really excited to return to IHA to teach math," she said. "Although IHA was a very challenging school, I learned so many skills that helped me to succeed in both college and life in general. IHA provides students with an environment to comfortably develop into your true self, to make lifelong friends, and to learn at such a high level among like-minded, ambitious peers. I look forward to playing a role in such a pivotal time in an IHA girl's life."
