Dr. Arta Boutcher teaches French at IHA and also serves as the moderator of the French and Francophone Club. Dr. Boutcher received a doctorate degree in French literature from the graduate school of the City University of New York and a master's degree in Spanish literature from Middlebury College. She has also spent time studying at the Sorbonne University and the Collège de France in Paris, France; Laval University in Quebec, Canada; and Guadalajara, Mexico.
Dr. Boutcher is a published author; she wrote a book on a French poet of Romanian origin entitled, "Rediscovering Benjamin Fondane," published by Peter Lang. This is Dr. Boutcher's sixth year teaching at IHA where she finds the students to be "conscientious, polite, and compassionate." She also said she is happy to work with very special colleagues.
