Ms. Geraldine Boland, director of guidance and moderator of the Writer's Guild, worked at IHA from 1991-1997 and again from 2001 to the present. She is a graduate of Notre Dame Girls High School in Connecticut and received a Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in history from St. Louis University. She then continued her education to receive a M.A. degree in spirituality from Duquesne University and a M.A. degree in counseling from St. Joseph's College.
Ms. Boland is a member of the American School Counselors Association, the American Counseling Association, the National Association of College Admissions Counselors, the New Jersey Association of College Admissions Counselors, and Bergen County School Counselors.
As a guidance counselor, Ms. Boland said she enjoys working one-on-one with the students to help them navigate their four years at IHA. She also enjoys the interaction that takes place in group guidance where she gets to know the students from a different perspective.
