Mr. Michael Hamlett is the school photographer at Immaculate Heart Academy and moderator of the Photography Club. He began photographing students at IHA in 2014.
Mr. Hamlett is an award-winning photographer/graphics designer specializing in commercial, fashion, and social photography. He has more than 35 years of experience with corporate events, landscapes, sports, and wildlife photography.
Raised in the farming community of the Middle Tennessee Valley, Mr. Hamlett has enjoyed a passion for photography since high school. After college and obtaining an Electronics Technician’s Board Certification, he joined the U.S. Army as a camera specialist stationed at AFN Germany and at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. While serving in the military, Mr. Hamlett operated as a training and combat photographer utilizing film, video, and camera surveillance technologies.
Utilizing his hard-earned security credentials and experiences, Mr. Hamlett continued his career in photography/videography, contracting to U.S. government agencies in Washington, D.C., until 1994. Mr. Hamlett then landed contract opportunities in the New York area in 1995 and settled full-time in New Jersey. His extensive clientele list extends from Chanel and Estée Lauder to the United States Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Secret Service.
Mr. Hamlett enjoys the tight-knit community of IHA and said he is “honored to be a witness to the spectacular talents of IHA students both inside the classroom and on the athletic field.”
