Academic Support at IHA
 
Referrals for professional academic tutoring in specific subject areas are available in the Guidance Department.
 
Writing Center and Math Lab
The Writing Center and Math Lab are located on the second floor in the Information Commons. English and math teachers are available for extra help to students at various points during the week. Please check the schedule posted in the Guidance Department for exact dates and times.
 
Math Tutoring
Mu Alpha Theta, the Mathematics National Honor Society, offers tutoring for those who might need help in their Mathematics courses. Please click here to request a tutoring appointment
 
NHS Tutoring
The National Honor Society (NHS), a nationwide organization sponsored and supervised by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, is a society composed of students who have been recognized by the faculty and administration for outstanding achievement in four areas: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.
 
NHS members offer after-school tutoring to students having academic difficulty, a primary responsibility of membership. Please click here to sign up for an NHS tutor. Please contact the Guidance Department for contact information of private tutors in various subject areas.

Faculty Assistance
Faculty members are available for extra help upon request. Please visit the teacher pages for information about specific classes. Teachers are available after school from 2-2:30 p.m. for coursework assistance. Teacher contact information is available in the Staff Directory.
 
SP/Accommodation Plan Policy
IHA accommodates students with SP/Accommodation Plans by giving extended time on mid-term and final exams and providing preferential seating in the classroom. Extended time will not be granted unless IHA is informed of a student having an SP or Accommodation Plan by the given deadlines.
