Service Awards 2017

This year, on May 11, 2017, we recognized 119 students, 10 faculty and staff members, and 5 families who received the prestigious President’s Volunteer Service Award.

This is the first year we have recognized families with the President’s Volunteer Service Award. It is given to families who have completed a minimum of five hundred hours collectively in one year, with each member contributing at least twenty-five hours. Congratulations to our dedicated families: The Foote Family (1005 hours), The Polster Family (1200 hours), The Rattazzi Family (1000 hours), The Devaney Family (500 hours), and The Szydlik Family (1200 hours).

Additionally, the Spirit of Service Award was given to IHA students whose “very spirit” makes them want to help others. Congratulations to:

Class of 2020: Isabella Sabino and Elizabeth Encke
Class of 2019: Gabriella Raia, Bernadette Goratowski, and Clare Donnelly
Class of 2018: Marissa Amen and Julia Bertussi
Class of 2017: Emily Bermudez, Lauren Foote, and Isabella Somera

Kathleen Rattazzi’17 was recognized for serving the most hours out of any other individual in the school with 547.5. Additionally, Isabella Somera’17 was honored with the Servant Leadership Award. This award is given to one senior whose service efforts made them a leader in the IHA community, and whose leadership transformed the culture of the school. Isabella was given the award for her devotion to building the PRAISE choir program and completely transforming the liturgical experience at IHA.

Special thanks to Mrs. Sarah Shutrop, director of campus ministry, for her leadership in IHA's service program. Click here to see the full Service Awards photo album and click here to see the 2016-17 Service Video.
