IHA Science NHS Expo - March 23

The Expo will begin with a presentation and Q&A by keynote speaker, Kira Larson. Ms. Larson, a native of Bergen County, received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Princeton University in 2008, and a master’s degree from Columbia University in 2009. She spent the first three years of her career working in New York City as a Structural Engineer for Weidlinger Associates, specializing in anti-terrorism/blast protective design of State and Federal buildings, including many U.S. Embassies. For the past five years, she has been working as a Bridge Engineer with HNTB in Parsippany, designing various highway and railroad bridges throughout the state.

After Ms. Larson speaks, there will be a poster presentation session conducted by the IHA SNHS members. Guests are invited to walk around to hear mini presentations by the talented IHA poster makers.

The Science NHS Science Expo gives SNHS students an opportunity to research an area of the sciences that interests them, and experience presenting those research findings as they would at an academic conference in college/grad school/careers. The Science Expo also gives IHA students who are not SNHS members the experience of attending such an academic conference.

IHA community members including students, families, and alumnae are invited to attend. For more information, email SNHS moderators, Ms. Fitzgerald at [email protected], or Mrs. Roberts at [email protected]
